Preparation: When doing the liquid emulsion, you have to take the same precations as you would take if you were handing photogrpic paper. This is because like the paper, the emulsion is sensitive to light so it can only be handled in safelight conditions. To melt it into a liquidyou have to put it in hot water or into the drying cabinate for a few hours before use. Try nt to shake or stir the liquid as itcan create bubbles.

Coating:When coating your chosen surface, make a test strip of your chosen surface to find the correct exposure. Apply the liquid to the surface under safelight conditions useing a brush. To increase the contrast apply muttiple layers, the more contrasted your image will be. You have to choose a surface that will allow the emulsion to stick to it. When done with the emulsion, place your light- safe lid back on your liquid and clean the brush with hot water.

Developing:when developing you would do it the same as you would with photograpic paper, this means 90 secondes in developer, 30 secondes in stop baths and 2 minutes in the fixer. The emulsion will turn transparent at the fixing stage. Allowing the colour of the object to show though the image. This means that your image will not stand out againt the darker background.

Washing:Wash thoroughly but carefully in clean water. More absorbent objects such as fabrics will take longer to wach whiles watching handle carefully as the emulsion is extremely fragile when wet.

Drying:Leave it to dry naturally in a cool environment because applying heat will destory the image. Also wash your hands after handling the liquid photographice emuslision.
